Honey Pork Fillet With Rice

I think this pork recipe is from Cheah of No Frills blog. Sorry Cheah if I am wrong.  I used pork fillet instead of pork ribs and added a stir fry cabbage with potatoes to accompany plain rice, an easy delicious dinner for two.
500 gm pork fillet [kak sim] - about 4 pieces
marinate with the following ingredients
3 pips garlic - crushed and chopped
1 1/2 tbsp honey, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1/4 tsp dark soy sauce, 1 1/2 tsp light soy sauce and a dash of pepper
Sauce - Combine together [adjust to taste]
3/4 cup water, 1 1/2 tbsp honey, 3/4 tsp salt and light soy sauce, 1 1/2 tsp chicken granules
1 1/2 tbsp cornflour + 3 tsp water to thicken
  1. Marinate pork fillet with marinade for several hours.
  2. Pan fry fillet pieces in oil using non stick pan for 5-10 minutes each side.  Dish out on plate.  Using the same wok, pour in sauce ingredients to cook.  When it boils, add cornflour mix to thicken.
  3. Meanwhile, scoop hot rice on serving plate, place 2 pieces fillet on rice, scoop cooked sauce over pork fillet.  Serve rice with Stir Fry Cabbage and Potatoes [cooked before pan frying pork fillet].  Garnish with coriander leaves.
4 leaves of cabbage - break into rough pieces
1 potato - boiled/skinned and cut into wedges
some cherry tomatoes - cut half
1-2 pips garlic - sliced
salt and pepper to taste
  • Heat a little oil in pan, saute garlic till fragrant, add in cabbage, potatoes and tomatoes.  Fry till vegetables are soft.  Add a  little water and seasoning to taste.  Dish out to serve with Honey Pork Fillet Rice
