This lemon chicken wings dish does not need any deep frying.  The chicken wings are pan fried till brown and then braised with  lemon slices and seasoning.  You may deep fry the wings if you like.
It is also as flavorful as the usual lemon chicken dish, tastes sweet and sourish.  An appetizingly good dish to have with plain white rice.
Recipe adapted from  Yum Yum Magazine No. 95 with modifications
6 chicken wings – cut into two
1 tbsp oil
1 small lemon – cut into slices
2 tbsp plum sauce
1-2 tbsp sugar to taste
1 tsp salt
250 ml water
2-3 chilli padi – chopped
1 tbsp chopped spring onions or coriander leaves
  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, pan fry chicken wings until brown and fragrant.
  2. Add in lemon slices and seasoning.  Stir to mix well, then pour in water.
  3. Bring to boil, cover with lid and lower heat to simmer until sauce has thickened.
  4. Sprinkle chopped chilli padi and spring onions.
  5. Dish up to serve.

Lemon chicken is one of my kids' favourite. Looks very delicious!

Hi Joyce, I enjoyed the lemon rings which is not really bitter as it has already absorbed the seasoning. I think it would be awesome to prepare this dish with drumsticks or chicken whole legs.
