Savoury Split Green Beans Paste

This is savoury sweet split green beans paste quite similar to the fillings for steamed glutinous kuih [angku] especially the black steamed glutinous kuih [Or Cho Ku].  Very nice paste that is not too sweet with a savoury taste.
Anyway, I this paste is for baking my purple sweet potato buns [recipe from Sonia of Nasi Lemak Lover] but ended up being used for my Twisted Purple Sweet Potato Buns - GDM [recipe here].
Here are the ingredients and preparation for this paste.
Ingredients
180 gm split green beans - washed and soaked for at least 4 hours [I soaked overnight]
3 screwpine leaves [pandan] - washed and knotted
125 gm sugar
1 tsp salt
130 ml oil
  1. Drain soaked split beans and place in a steaming tray with the pandan leaves.  Steamed for 45 minutes until cooked and softened.
  2. Blend the steamed split green beans with the other ingredients into a smooth paste in a processor.
  3. Place the paste back into the steaming tray and steam for another 20 minutes.
  4. Cool before using as filling for any steamed kuihs, fried jing dui [glutinous rice balls],  paus or baked buns.
These are some of the baked buns [recipe here]  where I used this as fillings.
