Made these after baking the plain and marble German cookies. Like the previous bakes, this one turned out well and as good as the previous two as the recipe is the same.
Verdict - the cookies are crispy, melt-in the mouth and very chocolaty. It's a keeper and a good cookie to bake if you like chocolate flavoured cookies. The dough is easy to prepare and handle.
Tips - You can make this when you are making the Chocolate Marbled German Cookies. Actually, with the Chocolate Marbled Cookies' recipe you can make 3 different types of German Cookies. Hahaha!, imagination running 'wild' or 'confused'. Just double the quantity, use a quarter of the plain to make the plain flower shape cookies, a quarter of the chocolate dough to make the chocolate flower shape cookies and the remaining half portions to make the marbled cookies. Very simple....
I made a double portion [shown in red] and use potato starch.
Recipe Adapted from Anncoo Journal

- Remove from oven, leave to cool completely on a wire rack and store in airtight container.

Hi Victoria, don't mention. Just love to share reliable recipes and this one is really good. My neighbour told me, her daughter in Japan requested for her to bring along Aunty Kimmy's cookies during CNY.
ReplyDeleteHi Fion, the dough texture is easy to handle as I pipe them. Not oily and the shape stays even after baking.
ReplyDeleteHi Mui Mui, I was just trying to make varieties with the same dough to save time, hehehe! Luckily it turns out well.

ReplyDeleteHi Yen, I think Ann Low's recipe did mention corn flour. Maybe you can try with corn flour if the potato starch is not available.
