Simple stir fry kailan vegetable with cuttlefish shreds. Instead of deep frying kailan shreds, I used simple stir fry method. It is as tasty minus the fats.
Ingredients
[serves 3]
300-400 gm small Kailan - washed and cut strips
1 small carrot - peeled and shredded
a handful of dried cuttlefish shreds
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp sesame oil
salt and chicken stock granules to taste
dash of pepper and shaoxing wine
- Heat oil in wok, saute garlic and cuttlefish shreds until aromatic. Dish up.
- Add in cut vegetables. Quickly stir fry to cook and add in seasoning to taste.
- Dish out and top with fried cuttlefish to serve immediately with rice.
Hi Kimmy, yummy ... I can see your dish got 'wok hei' ... green veg. My fav stir fry baby kai lan ... with prawns instead as I don’t eat cuttlefish ^-^! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWah, Kimmy! I can eat the whole plate of your Kai Lan with Dried Cuttlefish just like that. No need anything else!

ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I seldom eat dried cuttlefish too but once in awhile it is not bad.
ReplyDeleteHi Phong Hong, I do crave for vegetables at times. The cuttlefish adds fragrance to the kai lan dish.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mui Mui.
ReplyDeleteHi Lena, yes, it's great especially when cuttlefish shreds are always available in my pantry.
ReplyDeleteOh yummy yummy!! Very good to "song fan" (Cantonese)!
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria, when I miss 'greens', I like to cook Kai Lan with other ingredients to make it a complete dish. Yummy rice or even noodles like the Rad Nah.
